It's almost here! The day you've all been waiting for. No- LONGING for is almost upon us!
Happy Birthday to me in 3 days!!Here is what you should all be buying me. I'm not gonna put my mailing address on here but you all know how to get it. DHL and FedEx can still get stuff here on or before my birthday but it will cost a little extra to do next-day shipping.
Actually- Carley is sick, I'm having a pretty rough time with my asthma lately, and our cats keep trying to kill Rupert the pumpkin. I realized last night that my life is damn good. DAMN good. But I still miss my friends so much. I got to talk with Ali last night for the first time in a long time and I have been missing J, J, L, G, A, T, J, H, C, K, B D, S.... the list goes on and on. I miss having friends nearby. I know I don't even have time to hang out with the friends who ARE here but it's the principle. Sometimes I miss the incredible simplicity of colllege life. My friends were mostly within a quarter mile, my bills were pretty minimal, my work was easy and I enjoyed it to an extent. I got to cheer and work out almost all the time. Now I'm a member of the "real world" and while I enjoy it, it just isn't the same. I kinda miss parts of it. I love my life as it is right now I just miss being able to pop in a DVD, put up an away message and have people trickle in to watch or say hi. I don't miss college- just the community it afforded me for four years. On a lighter note...On yet ANOTHER note:
I'm becoming a car geek. Shhhh. I know I have almost 3 years of Car and Driver and can quote you stats from most of them. I can tell you how much HP and torque most of the last two years of Subarus, BMWs, Lamborghinis, and Audis have. I can even tell you skidpad ratings and how many gears are in their transmissions. BUT that is not true car geekdom. Starting this past weekend, I have begun working under the hood on my car for real. I started easy- new spark plugs, new air filter, and a radiator flush. I plan on replacing my EGR valve and my fuel filter in the near future. Then I start getting crazy. I'll be replacing my front discs and pads with new ones (Holly has 94k miles) and after that, I'll start going REALLY crazy. Someday, I'm gonna buy a hoist and do some real engine work- cams, pistons, timing chain, clutch, transmission... All of it. Someday, I may even get the guts to do work on Carley's car but I doubt that'll be any time soon. I've decided that I'm gonna make my kids learn to drive in this car. I'll get a new car some day in a couple years but it will be in addition to this one, not in place of her. just thought I'd tell you.
