Eve

So there are a lot of you out there who don't play computer games. In a few short weeks, this site will no longer interest you. All my "normal" stuff is going to be on Geoff and Carley from now on. If you want to read about how my life is going, what I'm doing at work, what positions Carley and I are trying... go there.

If you want to read about my fancy new stealth bomber or my up and coming mining barge, come here. For now- www.eve-online.com is the teaser. It's the single coolest MMORPG ever invented. This coming from the guy who couldn't stand WoW and doesn't even have an interest in most of the games in this vein. Tom- you'll love it. Andrew- Get it. Let me know if you want a free two week trial.

Another Update

December

There is no update.  Now that I'm not coaching or teaching, life is kinda boring.  I've been working out a lot more and I've lost 7 or 8 pounds.  I told my trainer (free perk with my job.  woot woot woot) that I wanted to be at 225 by the wedding with "less belly and more chest" and he said "No problem."  Since then I have had exactly 3 days where my abs and chest haven't been sore.  RAWR!  FEAR ME, JORDAN.  ZOMG!

I really miss coaching/teaching.  I'm not sure which one I miss more.  MasterDrive was possibly the most rewarding job I've ever had.  I got to teach, I got to drive, I got to have fun, and I got to teach people things they needed and wanted to know.  I felt like I was doing something worth doing and I had an awesome time doing it.  Someday, maybe I'll start a franchise up here.  Or a driving range... I still like that idea.  Like a country club but without the ubersuck that is golf.  A large open area with some flats and some hills, build a nice long course with space for 15-20 cars at a time.  Charge an annual membership, admission to races, whatever makes it a solvent business.  I've got plans.

I just have nothing  worth saying right now :-)  Deal.

Happy birthday to me!

I'm one quarter of a century old now.

That is all.

The Void

I do still exist.

I swear it.

Anyway... I live in Oregon now with my gal.  Life is good but weird.  I worked a few weeks at the local BMW dealership but my boss (not the owner- he seems cool) is kinda worthless.  So I left that area and moved on to better things.  Job hunting namely.  I've been re-reading the dune series (two books left including the Brian/Kevin prequel) and I have a birthday coming up.  That's the world as of now.  We've made some local friends and we're getting into better shape.  I run a mile almost every day now (running is a word used very loosely.  I jog. and walk)  and we joined a semi-competitive Ultimate Frisbee league.  Neither of us is very good, but we do have a lot of fun and it's helping me not get fat.  WOOT!

Oh yeah- and Carley is HAWT!

Finally

August

So we've been here almost a week.... And I'm finally writing.  Get over it.
Anyway... the new apartment is pretty cool.  Not fantastic/amazing or anything but I like it a lot.  The location is pretty spectacular. Off our back deck is a golf course and we're within a long walk/short bike ride of three grocery stores, a library, a bank, several good bike trails, three or four ice cream parlors, and scads of other stuff.  In addition, Eugene is one of the most bike-friendly towns I've ever seen.  Almost every street has a bike lane and the busses have bike racks on the front.  We'll be able to do almost anything we want without getting into our cars.  yipee!  I'm gonna start my job hunt as soon as I get back from the shindig in IL.  Papa is getting married so we're heading in for that.  Still trying to get to IL in two more weeks for Mom's wedding but it's looking more and more like that simply won't be possible unless I win the lotto or something.  And since I don't play the lotto... yeah.

On another note, Geoff and Carley got google-stalked by the Spanish Teacher/Soccer coach at Carley's school. Read about it there.

Life is pretty good.  Merry and Terell made the move-in as pleasant as one can be and had a good time with us.  Paul and Britta made the move-out as quick and painless (and humorous) as could be hoped for.  Thank you to all four of you.  you rock my socks off.  To everybody in Springs who didn't come help- you're a buncha dirty hippies.  Go wash my laundry.
